Find Child Care
Finding the right child care provider takes work. And it takes asking a lot of questions - from the practical ones about hours and meals, to the personal ones about discipline and toilet training. As parents talk to providers, the most important question to consider is, “Will my child receive loving and careful attention?" Quality Counts North State has information about high-quality child care providers. Contact us for more information.
The ECS Child Care Referral Utility can help you find a child care provider that meets your needs:
Child care can occur in many places, like in a home or child care center, on a school campus, or at a church or gym. Settings may be licensed or unlicensed. Licensed providers are licensed and monitored by Community Care Licensing. Unlicensed or license-exempt providers, like family members, friends, neighbors, nannies, and babysitters, are not regulated.
If the referrals provided to you do not meet your needs, please call back for an expanded or revised search. A referral is NOT a recommendation. We rely on the child care providers to provide us with up-to-date information. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of the provider information. We do not license, endorse, or recommend any particular provider. We do not make any judgement about the quality of care given by any provider.
For license-exempt providers, Trustline is available to help ensure your child is with someone you can trust. Trustline is California's official and most comprehensive background check for in-home child care providers. We can complete a Trustline background check for you and your provider.
If your child is 3 or 4 years old, check out the Universal PreKindergarten options. Contact us for more information.
