Preparing children for their educational journey. Apply now! We offer inclusive, high-quality programs in our preschool classrooms on district campuses throughout Shasta County and participating family child care homes throughout Shasta County for children ages 0-5. These spaces provide children an opportunity to learn together through play and develop their social skills. Part-day and full-day spaces are available.
Offering free or low-cost programs. Enrolled children attend for free or low-cost.
Family eligibility. Families may be eligible if:
1) Any member of the family receives government assistance (like CalWORKs, Medi-Cal, CalFresh, WIC, or Head Start),
2) Family is income eligible
3) Family is experiencing homelessness,
4) Child has an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) or Individualized Education Plan (IEP), or
5) Child receives child protective services or is at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
For full-day programs, families who meet eligibility criteria* can use this program if they need child care. That means they are working, attending school or vocation program, seeking work, seeking housing, or disabled. Enrolled families can pay their family fees online (preschool 24 months to five years) (infant/toddler 0 to 24 months).
