Workforce Development

Raising quality.

We provide support, resources, and professional development to child care providers to improve the quality of early care and education in our community to ensure school readiness and improve outcomes for children. Check out the calendar for upcoming events. Other services include coaching, professional growth advising, college financial aid, incentives like stipends and materials, and sponsorships to attend conferences.  We can help you develop your pathway.

Validate your qualifications.

Imagine wanting to be a special helper for children at a school or child care facility. A Child Development Permit is like an official card that says you've learned some important things about how kids grow and learn, and that you're qualified to help them. Think of it like different levels of helpers:

  • Some permits are for people who help the main teacher.
  • Other permits are for people who can be the main teacher.
  • And some are for people who can even be in charge of the whole school!

To get one of these cards, you usually need to take some classes about kids and sometimes have some experience working with them. It's basically a way to make sure the people taking care of and teaching young children know what they're doing and can help them the best way possible.
